John Winfield

Jigsaw Puzzles by Artist John Winfield

John Winfield is nationally known in the railroad community for his colorful paintings and prints. Depicting locomotives of fallen flags, as well as current roads, in settings that recall the golden age of railroading, he incorporates both the painting and printing processes.

In 1988, John began painting as a hobby. He painted landscapes and there-in developed the unique lighting techniques later used in his depiction of trains and rail-related images. With increased exposure of his work, the demand grew, leading him to combine his artistic and printing skills to produce unique color prints.

John’s paintings have been purchased by Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, Union Pacific Railroad, BNSF Railway, and various museums and private collectors nationwide. His work is also represented on several book covers and in other publications. The limited edition prints are sold to collectors nationally and internationally, through mail order, galleries, hobby shops, train shows, and the internet.
